
There is nothing worse than making the trek to see a popular tourist attraction just to think, “Is this this?”
But just because something is famous, doesn’t mean it’s impressive.
To help you decipher which sites are worth a visit and which ones you should skip, luggage storage specialist Stasher has ranked 99 of the world’s top tourist attractions.
Taking into account the Google reviews, the quality of the place accommodationdistance from the nearest international airport airportthe safety of tourists and the popularity of TikTok, each attraction was rated out of 10. If data could not be found for all of these points, the attractions were excluded from the ranking.
Four of the top five most impressive tourist sites in the world are located in Europe.

4. Plaza de Espana in Seville, Spain
A semicircle of stately government buildings flanked by tall towers hug a large fountain Sevilleis sweeping the Spanish Steps.
The plaza was originally built for the 1929 Ibero-American Universal Exposition.
52 tiled niches line the base of its buildings, depicting each of Spain‘s province. Four mosaic bridges – representing the country’s four ancient regions – cut picturesque paths over the water, where rowboats bob around the circular canal.
Although the popular tourist site was knocked off the top spot in previous Stasher rankings, it still sits proudly in the top five.
Plaza de España is a public space, which means it is free to enter.

3. Blue Lagoon, Iceland
With steam rising from its milky turquoise waters, surrounded by majestic volcanoes, IcelandBlue Lagoon is an inviting image.
However ethereal the landscape may be, the pool is not a natural phenomenon. The spa is filled with a by-product from the nearby geothermal plant power plant.
However, its mineral-rich water and soft white silica mud have healing skin properties
It welcomes around one million visitors a year, more than double the population of Iceland, and is a TikTok favourite.
Ticket prices for the Blue Lagoon vary according to the day, time and season, starting from around €60.

2. Disneyland Paris, France
The “Happiest Place on Earth” lives up to its tagline, at least according to TikTok users.
Disneyland Paris is the most popular attraction of the social media platform. Tagged posts have been viewed nearly eight billion times. It also has a very respectable Google review score of 4.5.
It’s easy to get with too Eurostar run direct trains from London to the theme park in under three hours. Although this service will end on 5 June 2023, it is still possible to access the park with a simple change at Lille-Europe station.
From BrusselsTGV and Thalys operate a direct high-speed train which takes just 1.5 hours.

1. Hungarian Parliament Building, Budapest, Hungary
With its fairytale architecture and edgy bars, HungaryThe capital of dazzles visitors at every turn.
A boat trip along the Danube is sure to be part of your itinerary, giving you the chance to spot Europe’s most impressive monument, the Budapest Parliament, from the water.
Opened in 1902, the neo-Gothic structure remains the largest in the country building. Its symmetrical facade and central dome cut a striking silhouette on the Pest side of the river. Step out at night to see it lit up in all its glory.
The Hungarian Parliament Building scored an impressive 7.3 out of 10 in Stasher’s analysis, making it not only the top tourist attraction in Europe but the world.
To enter the building, you will have to pay €13 if you are an EEA citizen or €26 if you are from outside the EEA.
What are Europe’s Worst Tourist Attractions?
Europe doesn’t figure as heavily among the world’s worst tourist attractions as it does the best.
The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, Turkey is ranked second among the worst attractions due to safety and accessibility issues. That said, it still earns an average of 4.4 stars in Google reviews.

THE United States of America and Asia has many of the other “worst attractions” on the list. Tourists have labeled the Hollywood Walk of Fame as The Angels “dirty” and “unsafe” in the reviews, earning the lowest ranking. Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida also features in the bottom 10.
Located 219 km from an airport, the Taj Mahal in India it is third worst. Hong KongVictoria Harbor and Ocean Park place sixth and seventh.
