The viewer says: “I live in Ogre, next to the Blue Mountains, near the Mālkalne circle, and today I noticed that the big trees around “Viada” have been thoroughly cut down, all of them cleanly! The question is – can it really be so easy to cut down big trees at the very edge of the city to expanded gas station?
By the way, the coat of arms of the Ogre region shows trees as a symbol of the city. Continuing like this, you will have to think about changing the coat of arms…”
The municipality also stated that the entrepreneur paid less than 123 euros for the reduction of natural diversity in the territory of the gas station.
The need to cut down these trees is mainly related to the construction of the access road. As a result, six fir trees and a pine tree were cut down.
