Residents of Jēkabpils are once again looking at possible floods with concern. Everyone still remembers what they experienced at the beginning of the year, when the residents of 450 houses had to be evacuated due to the rapid rise of the water level. Now forecasters’ forecasts show that the threat of floods could become a reality again, although now they are no longer promised to be as dramatic as those experienced in January, Dienas zine reports.

Jānis from Jēkabpilia shows the aftermath of the flood experienced in his homestead: the house was surrounded by water and mountains of ice. In the basement, the water reached the porch and all the supplies were damaged. The interviewed residents of Jēkabpils say that what they experienced was a bitter lesson, so they have already prepared for the days ahead.
