On Friday afternoon, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Ukraine, where in the next few hours she will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. As a first stop, you visited the mass graves of the city of Bucha, where 320 corpses of people killed by the Russians have so far been found. Speaking with some reporters about the massacre that took place in the city, you said: “Here in Bucha we have seen our humanity crumble.”
A few hours earlier, in the morning, Russia bombed the Kramatorsk station in the Donetsk region. At the time of the attack, there were thousands of people trying to leave the city by train. For now, Ukrainian authorities have said 39 people have been killed and 87 injured. Meanwhile, excavation began in the rubble of the buildings destroyed by Russian bombing in Borodyanka, a Ukrainian town on the outskirts of the capital Kiev. For days the Ukrainian authorities have argued that in the city, occupied for weeks by the Russians before their withdrawal, hundreds of civilians may have been killed and that widespread violence may have been carried out: at the moment there is no complete information.
