KYIV – Ukrainian officers on Saturday celebrated the recapture of the capital of the southern Kherson area from Russian forces a year in the past, the final main shift on the entrance line.

“Today, with the yellow and blue flag flying over Kherson, we proceed to combat and defend our land with dedication,” mentioned Zaluzhny.

Kherson was taken over by Russian forces in the beginning of the struggle in February 2022.

Zaluzhny shocked observers of the invasion final week with an unusually frank evaluation that the combatants had reached a stalemate on the entrance.

But Zelensky denied that the struggle had reached a stalemate, and met recurrently with leaders to attempt to forestall battle fatigue.
