Diller, who used to be the CEO of Paramount Pictures, sees the current situation as “a complete collapse of the industry” if a solution is not found within a few months.
According to the former film industry leader, due to the current situation, significantly fewer films will be made, and this will lead to canceled streaming subscriptions and lost cinema ticket revenues, meaning that film industry revenues will drop significantly. After that, even if something is agreed upon with the strikers, there will not be enough money to restart production.
Despite the current situation, Diller believes that the strikers and the film industry companies will not reach an agreement anytime soon, because “there is no trust between the parties.”
