On the night of March 9, at the Russian-Georgian border point Kazbegi (Verhnij Lars), a kilometers-long line of cars to enter Russia formed, reports the Russian media “Meduza”.

Pro-Kremlin “Telegram” channels “Shot” and “Mash” were the first to draw attention to this fact. The formation of traffic jams at the border point was also confirmed by eyewitness reports on social networks and the service “Yandex. Maps”.

Russian “Telegram” channels reported that the jam on the border was created after the protests of citizens against the “foreign agents” law pushed in Georgia were suppressed on Wednesday.

However, as local residents explain, traffic jams at the Kazbegi (Verhniy Lars) border point are a frequent phenomenon, which is mainly explained by the unstable functioning of the border point.

At the end of September last year, Verkhniy Lars became the busiest border point in Russia, as thousands of Russian citizens fled the country following the mobilization announced by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
