The Russians won an unprecedented victory, world leaders are discussing the Russian-Ukrainian war – Our war news on Sunday

Russia officially claimed on Saturday that it had fully captured the eastern Ukrainian town of Bahmut, marking the end of the longest and bloodiest battle of the 15-month-old war.

The war in Ukraine is one of the main topics of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, during which the Ukrainian president held talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Ukrainian president originally planned to join the event via video. The fact that he will personally attend the summit was revealed only on Friday.

A world without nuclear weapons is possible, according to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who gave an interview to the Japanese news agency Kyodo on Saturday on the occasion of the Hiroshima summit of the world’s seven most advanced industrialized countries (G7). Regarding the war in Ukraine, Guterres noted that he feels that peace is not yet on the horizon. He added: everything must still be done to minimize the effects of the war.
