Sanctions package against Russia for his invasion of Ukraine includes the so-called blacklist of people who have been barred from entering the European Union and of those whose property in Europe has been blocked. It included Russian oligarchs and businessmen and their family members. Added, among others, son of Yegwieni Prigożyn, a close associate Put inwhich finances the mercenaries of the Wagner group.
The family of the Kremlin spokesman, daughter, son and wife of Dmitry Peskov, was also sanctioned. Three propagandists from the pro-Kremlin agency Ria Novosti were also blacklisted. And among the 18 companies subject to sanctions (ban on the import of the products of these companies by EU countries) there are, among others, manufacturers of off-road vehicles and trucks.
The European Union is hitting Russia with more sanctions
A key element of the sixth package is the embargo on oil imported by sea from Russia, which is expected to be introduced by December. However, in the case of refinery products, the embargo is expected to take effect two months later. The sanctions do not apply to pipelines, so Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic will be able to temporarily import Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. Bulgaria and Croatia will also benefit from temporary exceptions. This does not change the fact that by the end of this year the EU will freeze 90% of the oil currently imported from Russia.

In addition, the EU has decided to disconnect four other Russian banks from the SWIFT global financial settlement system, including the larger Sberbank. Due to harmful propaganda, three Russian state TV stations have been banned from broadcasting in the EU: Rossija 24, Rossija RTR and TV Centr International. Not even European companies can advertise internally. This is the second blow to the media sowing misinformation and supporting the Russian war machine in Ukraine. In March A ban on broadcasting in the Community has entered into force for RT TV, formerly Russia Today and Sputnik.
EU sanctions hit Putin’s family and army
Along with the sixth package of sanctions, the list of Russian individuals and companies subject to export restrictions on dual-use goods and technology has also been expanded. The list banning the export to Russia of goods and technologies that could contribute to the technological development of the Russian defense sector was also expanded. The European Union has also banned the provision of accounting and PR services to Russian companies.
On the black list of sanctions there were 65 people, including Kabaeva (the mother of Putin’s children), despite the dissatisfaction of the Hungarians who yesterday canceled Patriarch Cyril. There are also over 40 soldiers from the 64th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is part of the 35th Army and which is responsible for the massacre of civilians in Bucza near Kiev: murder, rape and torture. “These atrocities constitute crimes against humanity and war crimes,” wrote the document justifying the sanctions.
