The first Ukrainian pilots completed their basic training

Sweden has not yet decided whether to supply fighter jets to Ukraine, but has not ruled out the possibility.

The first phase of the training is over and according to the report received from the army, it went well

Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson told the French news agency AFP.

In May, the Swedish government announced in Kyiv that it would invite Ukrainian military pilots and other personnel to train in Gripen fighter jets manufactured by the Swedish company Saab.

The course includes practice flights and simulator exercises, as well as the delivery of information to ground crew

– the minister wrote in his email.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked Western allies to supply him with modern fighter jets to defeat Russia, which is attacking Ukraine.

At the end of August, Denmark and the Netherlands, and then Norway, announced that they would deliver American-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, but the planes would be sent only after the pilots had received the necessary training. The United States is also training Ukrainian pilots to operate American fighter jets.
