The 38-year-old was the victim of a fraud while shopping online on one of the advertising portals. A resident of the Strzelce poviat wanted to buy a new mobile phone. After making the payment, he waited for the package.

Strzelce Opolskie. The scammer sent the pellets instead of a new phone
After a few days, the man collected the package, which was supposed to contain a new smartphone purchased online. However, after opening the box, he did not find a new device. The shipment was filled with gray granules only.
“Then the man realized that he had fallen victim to a fraud. In this way the 38-year-old lost almost 1000 zloty” – informs the Opole police in a press release.

Police warn that scammers can impersonate Internet buyers and sellers. When conducting transactions on the Internet, you must follow the basic security rules:
we are careful both when we buy online and when we offer items for sale; if possible, choose the “cash on delivery” option; we carefully check the contents of the package in the presence of the courier; do not click on links, especially those sent to us by strangers; repeatedly make sure that you are on the real and not fake banking website; access bank accounts via trusted applications or by entering the website name, never clicking on the link received, which is to redirect us to the bank’s website; never share data, in particular information relating to payments by debit card and access to a bank account, do not provide passwords, pins or access codes; if we are unsure of something or something raises our doubts, we should forgo the transaction.
