(RockedBuzz via Reuters) – Russian air defense units repelled several Ukrainian drone attacks on the Belgorod and Kursk regions on Monday, destroying at least 11 drones in total, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry in several separate statements on its Telegram messaging app said seven drones were shot down over the Belgorod region and four over the Kursk region.

The ministry provided no information on possible damage or injuries resulting from the attacks. Moscow rarely reveals details unless civilian or non-military infrastructure is damaged.

Both the Belgorod and Kursk regions border Ukraine and have been the subject of numerous drone attacks over the course of the war Russia launched against its neighbor in February 2022.

RockedBuzz via Reuters could not independently verify the reports. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine on the attacks.

Ukraine rarely claims responsibility for attacks inside Russia or on Russian-controlled Ukrainian territory, but in recent months it has said the destruction of Russian military infrastructure helps Kiev’s counteroffensive.
