Sergej Sojgu said today that the United States and its allies are trying to restore their military presence in Central Asia, citing the fight against terrorism.
The Russian state news agency, RIA, reporting on the statement, quoted Sergei Shoigu and added that Russia is increasing combat readiness at its bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan due to the above.
The Russian Defense Minister also spoke today about how he thinks the West’s goal with the war in Ukraine is to defeat Russia and intimidate China.
