With one less competition this season, Tottenham will return to a similar level Premier League XIs have lined up back-to-back victories over Manchester United and Bournemouth.
This is where Postecoglou can take sides.
Probable formation Tottenham-Burnley – Premier League
GK: William Vicar – He had a night off on Tuesday when he probably didn’t need to, but he should keep his goalkeeper jersey for the rest of the season.
RB: Pedro Porro – Used more in offensive construction than in the second half of last season, he has moved inside to combine with Bissouma and Maddison.
CB: Cristian Romero – Romero’s absence against Fulham was significant as Davinson Sanchez struggled to play from behind. He probably won’t miss many more games, due to injuries.
LB: Udogie Destiny – A star in the making, Udogie has thrilled Spurs fans after impressing in the early stages of the season. He picked up an assist for Kulusevski’s goal against Bournemouth.
CM: Yves Bissouma – His mid-week absence clearly indicates his importance for the rest of the season. One of the 13 goals scored by a senior club came in former club Brighton’s 2–1 win over Burnley.
CM: Pape Matar Sarr – He already has a goal and an assist in the league, impressing in the box-to-box midfield role. He will soon have talks with Tottenham on a new and improved contract.
RW: Dejan Kulusevski – He could be looking over his shoulder with stories linking Spurs to the move targets like Brennan Johnson.
AM: James Maddison – He scored his first goal for Spurs in the win at Bournemouth and quickly settled in north London.
LW: Son Heung-min – I hope to make my mark for the season here. The new Tottenham captain has had five shots so far in the league, but only one on target.
ST:Richarlison- He went on the scoresheet at Fulham before sustaining a knock on his ankle. Better performances are needed soon, with the Brazilian puncturing TottenhamHis brilliant offensive play with poor control and passing at times.
