Tottenham will be looking to shrug off their disappointment with their Carabao Cup second round exit when they visit Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou made nine changes to his starting XI as a familiar cup exit materialized for the north London side, Davinson Sanchez missed the crucial penalty in shoot-out defeat to Fulham after a draw 1-1 in regular time.

With one less competition this season, Tottenham will return to a similar level Premier League XIs have lined up back-to-back victories over Manchester United and Bournemouth.

GK: William Vicar – He had a night off on Tuesday when he probably didn’t need to, but he should keep his goalkeeper jersey for the rest of the season.

RB: Pedro Porro – Used more in offensive construction than in the second half of last season, he has moved inside to combine with Bissouma and Maddison.

CB: Cristian Romero – Romero’s absence against Fulham was significant as Davinson Sanchez struggled to play from behind. He probably won’t miss many more games, due to injuries.

LB: Udogie Destiny – A star in the making, Udogie has thrilled Spurs fans after impressing in the early stages of the season. He picked up an assist for Kulusevski’s goal against Bournemouth.

CM: Yves Bissouma – His mid-week absence clearly indicates his importance for the rest of the season. One of the 13 goals scored by a senior club came in former club Brighton’s 2–1 win over Burnley.

CM: Pape Matar Sarr – He already has a goal and an assist in the league, impressing in the box-to-box midfield role. He will soon have talks with Tottenham on a new and improved contract.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski – He could be looking over his shoulder with stories linking Spurs to the move targets like Brennan Johnson.

AM: James Maddison – He scored his first goal for Spurs in the win at Bournemouth and quickly settled in north London.

LW: Son Heung-min – I hope to make my mark for the season here. The new Tottenham captain has had five shots so far in the league, but only one on target.

ST:Richarlison- He went on the scoresheet at Fulham before sustaining a knock on his ankle. Better performances are needed soon, with the Brazilian puncturing TottenhamHis brilliant offensive play with poor control and passing at times.
