A political analyst has laid out the flurry of problematic issues plaguing the Republican Party as he explains how those issues could subsequently impact the political party’s midterm election outcomes.

During a recent appearance on MSNBC News’ “Morning Joe,” political analyst John Heilemann offered his assessment of how the Republican Party’s midterm outlook has taken a turn for the worse over the last several months. Initially, he believed there was a chance of a “landslide” for the upcoming midterm elections in November due to staggering inflation rates and President Joe Biden’s declining approval ratings.

However, now he’s detailing the “unholy trinity of bad things” that he believes may cost the Republican Party the election. Speaking to MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Heilemann insisted that it would take major changes for the party to have a real chance at taking both chambers of Congress.

“We’re both students of history and in a midterm election where the in-power president had his approval rating in the 30’s and the main economic variable for a lot of people in their lives which is inflation, even though it’s getting more under control and it’s way too high and people talk about it all of the time, out here in America and in circumstances like that, you should be looking at a landslide for Republicans,” Heilemann explained.
