In the past few days, it was revealed that a large quantity of missiles compatible with the Grad series launcher reached Ukraine from Serbia through intermediary countries.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marya Zakharova said today that they are “following the story” and the case raises “serious questions” in relation to Serbian-Russian relations.
Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic unequivocally denied that ammunition was intentionally exported to Ukraine, but said: it is possible that “private companies sold” the ammunition purchased from Serbia to third countries. At the same time, he added: the Serbian state has nothing to do with this.
In recent months, the relationship between Moscow and Belgrade began to deteriorate spectacularly: recently, Aleksandar Vucic questioned the Russian government for recruiting Serbian volunteers for the Wagner group. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Wagner, recently said: the Serbian volunteers have returned to Serbia.
Previously, Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin were personal good friends.
