“Top Gun: Maverick” will be released on May 27th in Polish cinemas. After more than 30 years in the service of the United States Navy, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he wants to be. He even turns down further promotions just to continue piloting – now he’s testing even the most modern machines. When, at the request of Val Kilmer’s Tom “Iceman” Kazansky – now Admiral – he directs a group of special pilots who train participants for a special mission, he will meet Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller).

This is the son of his friend, Officer Nick “Goose” Bradshaw, who died years ago during their joint mission. It is not a pleasant meeting for any of them: the tension between them is only growing. The Maverick also has to deal with the distrust and dislike of the other pilots who approach with reserve. Among them is Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd, played by Lewis Pullman, son of Bob Pullman. It will soon be discovered that the mission that awaits them will prove to be much more difficult than initially assumed. Maverick will have to prove that drivers are irreplaceable even when we have modern cars and advanced technology.
Although the character of the son of “Goose” appears in the film, you shouldn’t count on the fact that we will see his mother in the film there: Meg Ryan starred in this role in 1986. The director of the film, Joseph Kosinski, admitted that he never intended to show the female characters of the first part, because he didn’t want all the threads to refer to the past. He wanted to introduce new discussions. Therefore, for example, there is a new beloved “Maverick” – Penelope “Penny” Benjamin.
