The owners of the football club gave potential buyers until Friday in the second round.
The American Glazer family – which acquired the club in 2005 for 750 million pounds, but is not very popular among the fans – has been “selling” the association since November, and it is said that he wants to receive at least six billion pounds for the twenty-time English champion association.
According to Sky Sports’ report on Saturday, Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani’s new offer is around five billion, but British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the 70-year-old boss of the Ineos chemical company group, and Finnish businessman Thomas Zilliacus have also maintained their interest.
According to media briefings, there are eight prospective buyers, but details are not yet known.
