The Daugavpils regional hospital has repeatedly raised the alarm about the lack of money, reports Panorāma.

“Right now, the hospital has a little bit of debt for everyone,” said the head of the hospital, Grigory Semyonov.
“We were threatened that if we did not pay a certain amount of the total debt, future deliveries would be stopped.”
This has not happened yet, but austerity has already been introduced, which means that the patient will be the victim.
“From now on, we will work within the limits that we will risk not being able to help a specific patient just because there will be no specific material or medicine,” noted Semyonov.
The municipality of Daugavpils, which is the largest shareholder of Daugavpils regional hospital, is asking the state to join in the search for the missing 7.6 million euros.
The Ministry of Health evaluates the municipal proposal as general.
