The woman is staying at the “Jugla” branch of the State Social Care Center “Rīga”, which is one of the few social care centers that also cares for blind seniors.

“Mom was all blue and yellow, with scratched eyes. The sight was simply terrible,” says the daughter of the victim.
The relatives also gave the photos of the woman to “Ceturtajai studija”, and they really looked terrible. Physical violence was suspected.
“We believe that such a thing cannot be covered up. We asked the employees of the center what happened, – we were told that she simply fell. But that cannot be the case. It does not look like a fall, but like a slap,” says the daughter.
Relatives of Sirmgalve recorded what was happening in audio recordings.

Director of the State Social Center “Rīga”, Juris Saratovs, however, said that the lady fell on the walkers, which she used to move around on a daily basis. She suffered several injuries during the fall and received medical treatment afterwards.
Sirmgalve’s relative wants the employees to be evaluated. The social care center promises that the situation will be discussed.
