The press service of the Saeima reports that a new section is now available on the Saeima website “Current bills“. In it, everyone can keep track of current bills on the parliament’s agenda in a convenient and transparent way.
The section includes bills from the moment they are submitted to the parliament until they are announced or rejected. Bill cards contain information about the inclusion of bills in the agenda of the Saeima session, their transfer to the responsible committee and the progress of consideration in the Saeima in an easy-to-read manner.
Also, the bill card contains information about the initiators of the bill and a brief summary of it, as well as contact information for communication with the responsible committee working on the bill. More detailed information about the bill and the documents related to its consideration are available by activating the link of the bill indicated on the card.
In the new section, it is possible to conveniently search for interesting bills by various parameters and keywords, for example, the project applicant or a keyword in the name of the bill. It is also possible to select them by status (new, announced, pending, rejected or urgent), topic and commission responsible for the progress of the bill in the Saeima.
The new, user-friendly section improves the legislative section of the Saeima website www.saeima.lv. Information about active parliamentary agenda bills is available in this section for another two weeks after the promulgation of the law or the rejection of the bill.
