On Tuesday, October 17, the authorities will resolve on increasing the hourly fee of the election fee of nationwide cities and regional municipalities, the chairperson, secretary and members of the fee, together with invited civil service officers and different specialists from amongst the voters.

On Tuesday, October 17, the authorities will resolve on increasing the hourly fee of the election fee of nationwide cities and regional municipalities, the chairman of the electoral district fee, the secretary and members of the fee, together with invited civil service officers and different specialists from amongst the voters.

According to the draft rules developed by the State Chancellery, the hourly tariff charges might be elevated by a mean of two to a few euros in comparison with the present ones. The draft rules envisage setting the chairman of the fee 10-15 euros per hour, the secretary of the fee – 9-13 euros, and the member of the fee – eight to 10 euros per hour.

The certain quantity of the hourly tariff fee is decided by the Central Election Commission, bearing in mind the scope of work and duty of the related fee member. Taking under consideration the expertise of the 2022 Saeima elections, it’s predicted that the chairman of the election precinct fee might be paid 10 euros per hour, the secretary of the fee might be paid 9 euros per hour, and the member of the fee 8 euros per hour.

The chairman of the municipal election fee with the quantity of precincts as much as 14 precincts might be paid 11 euros, the secretary of the fee 10 euros, and the member of the fee 8 euros per hour. The chairman of the municipal election fee with the quantity of precincts from 15-28 precincts is predicted to earn 12 euros per hour, the secretary of the fee 11 euros, and the member of the fee 8 euros per hour. Municipal election commissions with the quantity of precincts from 29-42 precincts are scheduled to obtain 13 euros per hour for the chairman, 12 euros per hour for the secretary of the fee, and 9 euros per hour for a member of the fee. The chairman of the Riga Election Commission – 15 euros, the secretary of the fee 13 euros, and a member of the fee 10 euros per hour.

The draft of further rules envisages increasing the compensation of meal bills for members of election commissions throughout voting and vote counting, increasing it to 11 euros.

The draft rules clarify that since the institution of the presently efficient quantity of compensation for catering bills, the minimal wage and the common wage have elevated considerably, and it’s also not in keeping with the prices of trendy items and companies.

Currently, the hourly fee for the chairman of the fee is 7.78-11.97 euros, for the secretary of the fee – 7.00-10.10 euros, for a member of the fee – 6.00-7.78 euros. Also, members of the fee are compensated for his or her meal bills throughout voting and counting – eight euros per day.
