IDF: Fifth batch of released Gaza hostages arrives in Israel

A fifth group of hostages released from the Gaza Strip has returned to Israel by way of Egypt, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Tuesday night.

According to the Israeli military, the 12 hostages would have undergone a medical examination earlier than being reunited with their households.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s workplace, the group consists of 10 Israelis and two Thai residents. Among the Israeli residents there are aged girls as much as 84 years previous and a 17-year-old teenager, who was released collectively together with her mom.

This brings to 81 the full quantity of hostages released from Gaza because the begin of a groundbreaking truce settlement between Israel and the Palestinian extremist group Hamas on Friday, together with 61 Israeli residents.

In return, 150 Palestinian prisoners have up to now been released from Israeli prisons. Another 30 had been scheduled to be released Tuesday night.
