In May, some users of Whatsapp reported a rather curious problem, or rather an anomalous access by the app to the microphone of your phone. Indeed, in the dashboard of Android 13 dedicated to privacy, found that the app, even when it was not in use, accessed the microphone, usually only used to record voice or video messages. WhatsApp developers, almost immediately, they attributed the authorship of the criticism to Googlewhich after a month has provided some more details.

Google, in fact, has recognized the problem and, at the same time, announced a fix. In this regard, the Android developers have stated that “A recent Android bug affecting a small number of WhatsApp users resulted in incorrect privacy indicators and notifications in the Android Privacy Dashboard. We thank WhatsApp for their cooperation and apologize for any confusion this bug may have caused to users”. Google, therefore, will proceed to release a fix which will definitely solve the problem.
