Olympic high jump champion Gianmarco Tamberi won the bronze medal at the Indoor World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Tamberi jumped 2.31 meters to close the race in third place tied with New Zealander Hamish Kerr. The final was won by South Korean jumper Sanghyeok Woo with 2.34 meters, while silver went to Swiss Loïc Gasch, also with 2.31. Tamberi participated in the competition with a Ukrainian flag drawn on his shoulder and with the surnames of two Ukrainian colleagues written on his arm, those of Bohdan Bondarenko and Andriy Protsenko, two Ukrainian jumpers who were unable to participate in the World Cup due to the war.
