The latest version of Whatsapp Beta for Android – 2.23.10.13 – contains a very important new feature: the ability to edit messages. The developers had been working on this feature for some time and in fact it is now available to users who have joined the WhatsApp beta program dedicated to Android devices.
The operation of the new option is quite simple: in fact, it is necessary to press on the message and then click on the icon with the three dots at the top right. Finally, simply select the “edit” option. In this regard, the developers have clarified that there is no limit to the number of times a message can be modified, however the action must be performed within 15 minutes from sending the message. This limit was chosen because the tool was only implemented to allow users to correct any typos, while a longer time limit could compromise the integrity of the conversation.

Furthermore, it is not possible, at least for the moment, to edit a message sent from another device.
By the way, when a message is edited, the “modified” label will appear inside the balloon: this detail will allow users to understand if a message has received a review. Finally, it’s not that difficult developers can make further improvements to the new option. As for the timing of the release, however, it will be necessary to wait for further official communications.
