The complex, which is the Seym building, was built in the years 1949–1952. Since then, its individual parts have undergone minor renovations, but have never been fully refurbished. The situation will change in the coming years, as the Chancellery of the Sejm is planning five tenders related to the renovation of the building in Wiejska Street. The last significant change overall was the commissioning of the parliamentary committee building in 2018.

“The rooms of the parliamentary committees have not been modernized since the 1950s,” explains the Sejm Information Center in Rzeczpospolita.
The most serious investment, although not the most expensive, is to renovate the dome of the Debate Hall in the Sejm building. The work is to be carried out only on days when there are no meetings, so as not to disturb the performance of the duties of the alternates. According to the calculations of the tender, it will cost around 500,000 PLN.
In the coming months, the Sejm will start a complete renovation of historic buildings and attics. Restructuring of the parliamentary complex. The largest of the last 50 years

They need to be adapted to audio-video systems, which will improve the quality of broadcasting from committees and electronic voting.

Renovations in the Seym. The Hotel dei Soci will be demolished and rebuilt
The biggest investment will be the demolition and reconstruction of the hotel for the members. Two buildings will comprise 400 rooms, including apartments of 90 square meters and 17 rooms with an area of 55 square meters. 25 rooms will be guest rooms. Parliamentarians will also have restaurants, cafes, a swimming pool and a chapel at their disposal. The buildings will also include office space.
However, the construction works will not begin shortly, because only at the turn of 2024/2025. The new hotel could open in 2028. The work on selecting a designer can take around three years. The cost of the investment is estimated at PLN 285 million. This amount also includes the construction of a large parking area of 250 square meters. According to “Rzeczpospolita”, the Chancellery of the Sejm believes that this is “the only sensible solution in case of deterioration of the technical condition of the building”.
Rzeczpospolita notes that although this year’s budget of the Sejm Chancellery is a record – 577 million PLN, the contracts related to the restructuring of the parliamentary complex will only be visible in next year’s budget.
