The following conclusions can be read in the British intelligence report:
- Last week, Russian media reported that this year’s Russian International Military Games will not be held in 2023. The original aim of the games, called the “Olympics of war”, was to bring the army back into the center of popular culture in Russia. The festival-like event is especially known for the tank biathlon.
- Russia probably canceled the games primarily out of fear that the event would be seen as frivolous in wartime.
- It is also a real possibility that due to the losses in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense fears that
