According to information available to intelligence Moscow is recruiting civilians in the Pskov region, whose task would be to patrol the area around the local airbase in order to prevent further drone attacks.
It is located less than thirty kilometers from the Estonian border Ukraine carried out an attack on the Pskov air base a month agoduring which two Ilyushin Il-76 medium transport aircraft were destroyed and two were damaged.
The attack may have hit Russia particularly unpleasantly because the Ukrainian drones that carried it out had to travel hundreds of kilometers, depending on the route in Russian airspace, while the air defense did not even notice them.
It is highly questionable how effectively untrained civilians armed with handguns could act against the Ukrainian airstrikes, at the same timeit is important to note that the news has not been confirmed beyond doubt by either Russian or independent sources.
