Bayern Munich set to complete signing from Chelsea

Bayern Munich are close to finalizing a deal for Chelsea manager Anthony Barry, sources have confirmed 90 minutes.

Just installed Bayern trainer Thomas Tuchel he worked with Barry during his previous tenure at Stamford Bridge and made it clear to his new bosses that he wanted to take him to Germany.

90 minutes understands Barry, 36, told Chelsea of his desire to link up with Tuchel and the talks are now nearing conclusion.

Chelsea were upset by Tuchel declaration of an approach for Barry before a deal was agreed.

He said after being introduced as Bayern manager: “We are hoping to add Anthony Barry who is currently at Chelsea.”

90 minutes it has been said that it is one of the reasons the transfer has been delayed to this extent.

Barry, a set piece specialist, first arrived at Chelsea under Frank Lampard in 2020. But he was retained by Tuchel and current Blues boss Graham Potter and established himself as one of Europe’s top-rated managers.

Now Barry has decided to go to the Bundesliga and Bayern are hoping a deal is finalized by the weekend.

Barry did not return to Chelsea before his planned move Monk. He spent the last week in the national team as he is also part of Roberto Martinez’s Portuguese staff. You joined Martinez in March, having previously worked with him in the Belgian national team.
