K&H Pénzforgalmi Szolgáltató Kft. is one of the major adopters of the Hungarian market, which is responsible for the operation of approximately 25,000 POS terminals, which represents a 9 percent market share, and has contractual relationships with 12,000 merchants in the country. Cooperation with UnionPay started in May 2022 and then In August 2023, it became possible to accept UnionPay cards in the entire network of K&H Pénzforgalmi Szolgáltató Kft.

UnionPay started accepting cards in Hungary in 2010, currently more than 70 percent of Hungarian merchants and 45 percent of ATMs can accept UnionPay cards.

UnionPay can be used at 102,000 merchants and 2,343 ATMs/terminals by the end of July 2023 through cooperation with Hungary’s dominant local acceptors and cross-border institutions – (WorldLine SIX Payment Services, Global Payments -) and K&H Pénzforgalmi Szolgáltató Kft. The cooperation that has just started is also important because in the first seven months of 2023, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Hungary – who often use UnionPay cards – increased four times compared to the previous year.
