Ukraine has received just over half of the heavy weapons promised to it by the West, according to a report by the Kiel Institute of World Economics.

Experts of the Kiel Institute of World Economics collect information on arms supplies to Ukraine in the “Ukraine Support Tracker” database.

Western countries are now also less active in taking on new commitments for the supply of heavy weapons.

According to the information gathered by the institute, the last “peak” of military, humanitarian and economic aid promised to Ukraine was fixed in the period until the first anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion, which took place on February 24 of this year.

In the following period – from February 25 to May 31 – the activity of Ukraine’s allies has decreased.

The total amount of aid announced by Western countries is currently around 165 billion euros.

Most of the promised aid is directly military aid, but Ukraine has so far received just over half of the heavy weaponry it was promised, the report said.

Experts from the Kiel World Economic Institute also emphasize that the biggest difference between promised and delivered heavy armaments is observed in the context of the largest NATO members, such as the USA, Germany and Great Britain.

Meanwhile, Eastern European countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, have delivered more than 80% of the promised heavy weapons to Ukraine.

The West began supplying Ukraine with heavy weapons almost a year after the start of the Russian invasion.

According to information collected by the Kiel Institute of World Economics, at the beginning of July

The West had delivered 471 tanks to Ukraine. Another 286 tanks will be delivered later.
