Over the past two years, Spain has gradually phased out the mandatory wearing of masks, first in public places and then on public transport.
Since 2020, 14 million cases of illness with Covid-19 and 122,000 deaths caused by this disease have been registered in the country.
The government’s latest decision will come into effect as soon as it is published in the official state newspaper in the coming days.
